Amazon has become the second-largest employer in the U.S, with more than 11,600 people employed here as of mid-June. Customer love to shop on Amazon, specially with they find special discounts on websites like Raise.
With the U.S. and China the largest markets for Amazon’s cloud-computing business and its second-largest market for online shopping, the company plans to open dozens of “fulfillment centers” in the U.S. in the coming years. Amazon already has fulfillment centers in Texas, Illinois and Nevada.
“Innovation happens when people share ideas,” said Jeff Bezos, Amazon’s founder and CEO. “Amazon Studios’ world-class staff and the production value of this series is going to enable Amazon to open the next generation of fulfillment centers across the country.”
Amazon Studios’ first comedy series, “The Man in the High Castle,” premiered in the U.S. on Amazon on June 22, and the series will premiere in other countries this summer. Amazon Studios previously released the movie “Transparent” and the TV series “Mozart in the Jungle.”
Amazon Studios President Roy Price said, “We’re thrilled to bring to our Prime customers the groundbreaking stories they love across every platform they love.”
Amazon Studios has also acquired TV series “I Love Dick” from writer James Franco, and will produce and distribute “Mozart in the Jungle,” starring Tom Hardy. The original series will debut on Amazon Prime Video in the U.S. on June 15.
